DESCRIPTION:

Annabel is dead. And she's pretty pissed off about it. Despite having strived to be 'lighter than air' back when she was alive, the consequences of that yearning haven't quite sunk in yet...Julia Jacobs is fat. Which Annabel immediately notices when she's assigned as Julia's mystical ghostly helper (don't even think about calling her a guardian angel). And as her helper, Julia's problem seems pretty obvious to Annabel. Fat = problem = unhappy. Sorted...The only trouble is that whatever is causing Julia to overeat (and it is overeating - even Annabel can tell the difference between this and the usual human weakness for food) is hidden deep within her. Annabel will have to get to know her to uncover this secret and 'fix' her. She can become the voice of reason, Julia's source of strength, her shining light.....And indeed for Julia, it is like a light-bulb going on. A voice in her head starts confirming every ugly thought she's ever had about herself, which makes all her other problems and pressures - from absent parents to bitchy friends, to career pressure and that nagging feeling that maybe the boy she likes likes her too - suddenly pale in comparison. Thin = in control = happy...Right?..Except . . . All this time spent in someone's head has got Annabel thinking. Not just about hers and Julia's relationship with food, but about her family too. Like how maybe Annabel not eating had more of an affect on her sister than she thought. And how maybe the boy Julia likes really means it when he says she's gorgeous as she is. And that maybe . . . maybe happiness can mean more than eradicating all the flesh from your bones...Soon Annabel is forced to re-evaluate not just her own motives with Julia, but her entire life's philosophy. But as she knows, once the voices take hold it is hard to ignore them. She just has to hope she can change Julia's mind in time…
